Besides helping Tottenham attempt to compete for the 2020-21 Champions League, coach Jose Mourinho is also planning a transfer.
Mourinho’s main goal is Philippe Coutinho, a player who is not in Barca’s plan.
The Portuguese tactician still believes in Coutinho – the player who has much experience playing in the Premier League in Liverpool before.
In a discussion with Chairman Daniel Levy, Mourinho said that Coutinho will regain his true form when playing continuously and gaining confidence from the club.
Therefore, Mourinho once again put the issue of using Tanguy Ndombele to discuss with Barca, with a certain fee.
According to Don Balon, Tottenham has officially sent a new offer to Barca, to discuss the transfer.
Don Balon sources said that Levy and Josep Maria Bartomeu personally negotiated the terms. Barca seems to accept the offer from Spurs.
Ndombele was the player Mauricio Pochettino brought to Tottenham. But the French midfielder was not part of Mourinho’s plan.
In contrast, Barca appreciated Ndombele. The Catalunya club are in need of a central midfielder to offload Sergio Busquets – who is no longer young.
In January 2020, Tottenham allowed Christian Eriksen to come to Inter, without an alternative. So Mourinho is doing everything to own Coutinho, in order to upgrade the attack.
